Truth; theirs is a heavenly state.

A heavenly attitude is theirs (touveyhoun), those whose home (maskenii)
isin (rukha); theirs is a heavenly state (malkoota d'shmeya).

shall be comforted. |
3. A heavenly attitude is theirs, those mourning their
wrongs; they shall be comforted.

wrongs (abilii); they shall be comforted (nitbeyoon).

inherit the earth. |

shall see God. |

minds; they will see God.

in their minds (b'libhoun); they will see (nikhazoun) God (Alaha).

shall be called the children of God. |
8. A heavenly attitude is theirs, those serving the peace of God;
they will be called the children of God.
A heavenly attitude is theirs (touveyhoun); those serving (abdey)
the peace of God (shlama); they will be called the children of God (Alaha).

for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. |
9. A heavenly attitude is theirs, those being scorned because of
their justness; theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
A heavenly attitude is theirs (touveyhoun); those being scorned
because of their justness (kenoota); theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven (malkoota
dashmeya).

you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you
falsely, for my sake. |

you and deceitfully speak against you every evil word because of being
with me.
A heavenly attitude is yours (touveyhoun) when they harass (radpean)
you and scorn you and deceitfully (b'dagaloota) speak against you every
evil word (mila) because of being with me (mitlate).

| 11. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for
great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets
which were before you. |
11. Rejoice, be happy, be joyful at the increase of your reward in
heaven for in such manner were harassed the prophets before you.
Rejoice, be happy (khdau), be joyful at the increase of your
reward in heaven (shmeya): for in such manner were harassed (rdapo) the
prophets before you.

| 12. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if
the salt have lost his savour, where with shall it be salted? It is
thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden
under foot of men. |
12. You are the salt of the earth, but if salt becomes tasteless,
with what will one salt? For such is of no use but to be trodden under
foot by men.
